Following the 3008 Hybrid4 and the new 508 and 508 SW Hybrid, which were presented in Paris, Peugeot announced the creation of a new range of electrified, sports vehicles from 2020, with high performance and low emissions.
The French brand continues its aggressive policy and chooses to offer its customers a range of high performance and low emission electrified sports cars. will concentrate its resources on the development of such vehicles and therefore decided to withdraw from the WRX championship at the end of 2018, since the latter evolution in electrification is questionable.
These sports electric versions will be created in cooperation with Peugeot Sport teams and will contribute to the goal of limiting carbon dioxide emissions. Specifically, Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said:
