BMW unveils the futuristic Vision M Next Concept

The thought will inevitably go through your mind and that’s not bad. But BMW Vision M Next concept is more than just a retro-futuristic design study. It is the future of performance as envisaged by the German company and I must admit that this future is nice. In the new BMW prototype you see a combination of the Next i8 with a spiritual successor to the legendary M1.

BMW Vision M Next combines some features of the M1, for example the wedge shape and the retro-splendid “butterfly” doors with futuristic elements such as Laser Wire technology for luminaires and the entire interior.

Of course, the “kidney” grille occupies a significant percentage of the front while BMW chose an impressive color scheme with Thrilling Orange to come in direct contrast to the Cast Silver.

As far as the cab is concerned, it is characterized for its driving orientation with the particular steering wheel, the curved digital instrument panel directly on it and few others to distract the driver.

The larger, perhaps, highlight of the Vision M Next though, is the motive set of it consisting of a two-litre, turbocharged petrol engine and plug-in hybrid system that aggregate, yielding 600 horsepower!

Theoretically, the whole allows the prototype to accelerate to 100 km/h from stop in just 3.0 seconds and gives it a top speed of 300 km/h while at the same time, it gives a pure electric autonomy of 100 km.

The engine is positioned behind the passenger compartment and an electric motor on each axle make the Vision M Next a four-wheel drive or even a backstop if the driver is feeling adventurous enough.

Now, it remains to be seen whether BMW intends to pass the prototype into production. It is not ruled out if acceptance by the world is what it should be, but in any case, its elements will be passed on to production embedded in other models.
