Mercedes-Benz EQS was spotted and photographed in a public place. It is a large electric sedan that will be based on the S-Class, whose production will start in 2020, according to company executives. The latest prototype of Mercedes-Benz EQS has much less camouflage than the previous one and reveals that it is a liftback sedan similar to the Tesla S model.
Although Mercedes is working on a redesigned S-Class, which is expected to be released in 2020, Mercedes-Benz EQS is completely different. First of all, the platform to be built will be the MEA2 (Mercedes Electric Architecture) designed exclusively for electric vehicles (BEV). The Mercedes-Benz EQC is based on a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz MHA platform for SUV with internal combustion engines, which is the MEA1.
