Lucid Motors announced it hired Peter Hochholdinger, a Tesla’s head of production former at its factory in Fremont, California, as Vice-president in charge of its manufacturing sector.
The electric car manufacturer of Newark, California, has invested over $1 billion in Saudi Arabia’s public investment fund, was founded in 2007 as Atieva by Sam Weng and Bernard Tse, a former vice-president of Tesla.
In April Lucid anointed Peter Rawlinson, former chief engineer of Tesla’s Model S, as managing director. The company places itself less towards Tesla and more towards manufacturers like Audi or BMW.

Hochholdinger, former Audi production manager, left Tesla last week after three years in the company. In Tesla he was responsible for the development and production of the Model S.
