Volkswagen ID.R breaks timers and shot down Hillclimb record at Goodwood Festival. The old record was scored by Nick Heidfeld with a McLaren Formula 1 in 1999. Twenty years after ID.R guided by Romain Dumas reduced the record by half a second and scored the time of 41.18 seconds.
In addition, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 the Volkswagen ID.R had made a record time for an electric car, scoring 43.86 seconds. The team behind the Volkswagen ID.R prepares the electric car for months with the aim of shooting down a record series.
Recently, the team completed its aerodynamic redesign, and shortly after the ID. R conquered the top of Nurburging with an average speed of 206km/h and the incredible time 6:05.336.
Volkswagen ID. R is powered by two electric motors and produces about 671bhp, creating significant power thanks to the huge rear wing. The automobile industry says Volkswagen ID. R can accelerate from 0-100 to about 2.25 seconds and it is worth noting that the car weighs less than 1100 kg.
