New Porsche Taycan electric officially unveiled
New Porsche Taycan electric car was officially unveiled. Design and structurally, the big Trump of Porsche’s 4th-door sporty model, which is based on a “niche” electric platform, is the low center of gravity and its ideal distribution (49/51 front/rear). But, above all, its aerodynamic performance, with the drag coefficient starting-depending on the version-the impressive price of 0.22.
The point of reference in the cabin is the… screens, which total reach number four. In front of the driver’s field of vision there is the digital 16.8-inch instrument panel, which is distinguished by its convex and sufficiently minimalist design of its upper part. The new Taycan Guide has the ability to choose from four different illustrations of the latter.
In Classic, the traditional Porsche models are displayed, with the ever centrally positioned tachometer having given way to an “electric power meter”. In Map mode, the last one is replaced by the map display, while in Full Map Mode the satellite navigation system signals occupy the entire available screen width. Finally, in Pure Mode the driver can see the indications necessary for the circumstances, such as for example speedometer.
On the right of the instrument panel there is still one screen, with a diagonal of 10.9 inches, through which the driver can control the functions of the navigation system, the music, and all connectivity parameters. The last 8.4-inch diameter display is located on the center console. It is worth noting that, despite the “dominance” of digital displays, the interior of the new Taycan is adorned by a centrally positioned analog clock.
The new Porsche Taycan will be available in Turbo and Turbo S versions powered by two electric motors-in cooperation with a two-step gearbox located on the rear axle-which attach to the top version of the model with maximum power 761 hp and torque of 1,005 Nm in overboost mode and in combination with Launch Control.
These numbers ensure the Turbo S acceleration from a stop to the first 100 and 200 km/h at 2.8 and 9.8 sec, respectively, as well as a top speed of 260 km/h. In normal conditions, the maximum power in the Turbo S does not exceed 625 horsepower. Finally, in the Turbo version, the maximum power reaches 680 horsepower (Overboost mode not foreseen), with the acceleration from stop to the first 100 km/h to be completed here at 3.2 sec.

With a charge to the Turbo S and up to 412 km. In Turbo. In this way, Taycan is equipped with a charging system at 800 V, which allows it to be charged on a network of up to 270 kW.
In this case, the car battery can be filled with energy that is capable of offering 100 km of autonomy in just 5 minutes time. On the same network, for charging up to 80% of the maximum battery dynamics are required, according to Porsche, only 22 minutes. Porsche starts accepting orders for Taycan Turbo S and Taycan Turbo in Germany, with an initial price of 185,456 euros and 152,136 euros respectively.
