Production of electric Polestar 1 started
The first units of the Polestar 1 coupe come out of the production lines in its brand new factory in Chengdu, China. The building, designed by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta, is part of the same effective approach as the hybrid model it manufactures, with the acquisition of the label “LEED” (for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo’s head of electrification and director of the sports arm of the company, said about the new unit: “The Chengdu is not just a production unit dedicated to a premium hybrid sports car. We also created an inspiring work and visit area that fully reflects the Polestar brand. “
The avant-garde and the integration of the digital-high technology are combined in the production of Polestar 1. The process is supervised by well-trained quality control controllers who, with a minimum of 10 years ‘ experience, implement some of the strictest monitoring and evaluation processes in the industry.
