Ford Mustang Mach-E is a brand new, all-electric SUV with sporty features.
This is certainly a very important moment for Ford since the Mustang name includes a legendary car with a long history in America. Ford knew for a long time which car would target the market of America, and this is none other than the Tesla model Y. Tesla’s SUV will be sold on the American market in the summer of 2020, while Mustang-E will come out of the production lines a little later.
Externally, Mustang Mach-E is recognizable as Mustang, featuring many of the familiar identity elements of the Mustang family, such as the long and dynamic bonnet, the design of the body shoulders, the aggressive front headlights and, the trademark , the rear lights with the three independent elements.
The interior of the Mustang Mach-E embodies a blend of modern design and intelligent functionality. The touch screen of the 15.5-inch SYNC system (strongly reminiscent of Tesla) and its simple interface removes complex menus and facilitates access with features that smartphone users will find convenient to use.

Mustang Mach-E it will be offered with two differential lithium ion batteries, 75.7 kWh (standard-range) and 98.8 kWh (extended-range) either by rear-wheel drive or by four-wheel drive through the use of fixed magnet motors.
In extended range and rear-wheel drive, Mustang Mach-E is expected to secure a charging electric autonomy of up to 300 miles (483 km), according to the WLTP protocol.
The model with the same battery and all-wheel drive is expected to yield a power of 337 horsepower and a torque of 565 Nm. Ford will also offer a special high performance version, the Mustang Mach-E GT with a power of 465 hp, a torque of 830 Nm and a 0-60 miles (0-96 km/h) less than 4 sec. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 402 liter, while there is another 100 liter storage area with water runoff system.
The battery is placed on the floor of the car, between the two axles of the car. Ford offers a wall charger solution (Ford Connected Wallbox) with five times more charging power than a household outlet. That means average autonomy of 39 miles (62 km) per hour time in extended-range version and rear-wheel drive.
The Ford domestic charging cable (Home Charge Cable) included in the standard equipment of the vehicle, can offer, on average, autonomy of the order of 14 km per charging hour, using a classic household electrical outlet of European specifications.
With a maximum charging capacity of 150 kW, Ford Mustang Mach-E in extended-range and rear-wheel drive will be able to increase its autonomy up to 58 miles (93 km) within 10 minutes to a DC fast-charging station. Using a 150 kW quick charger, the battery charges from 10% to 80% in about 38 minutes in the standard-range version.
The Crossover coupe model is offered in five equipment versions in the USA, with the Select version starting from $43,895, Premium from $50,600, California Route 1 from $52,400, First Edition from $59,900 and GT from $60,500. These prices are pre-7,500 USD discount offered by the U.S. government.
With these characteristics the Mustang Mach-e automatically becomes a worthy opponent of the Tesla model Y, although there are no adequate technical data for the small SUV of Tesla, its autonomy will range from 230 to 300 miles, will be RWD or AWD, the acceleration 0-60 mph will it ranges between 3.5 and 6.5 seconds, and its price will be from $44,000 to $65,000.
For the Tesla model Y however, there are some clear advantages, such as battery technology that has been very tested and as it shows so far the data, operates remarkably well in Tesla Model 3. Another advantage that the Tesla SUV has is the Autopilot, a very sophisticated autonomous driving system where expected since 2020 incorporates full autonomous driving features.
