Polestar announced today that the test production of the Polestar 2 model was launched at its factory in Luqiao, China. The Polestar 2 is a purely electric model, with fastback design lines, which will try to stand against the Tesla Model 3. The price will start from 58.800 euros in Germany.
To complete the final production line, need some tests first, and at the moment the Polestar is in the second phase of prototype production, to check all the details for the smooth process of production and the high standards that should cover the purely electric Polestar 2.
Later, Polestar has plans to open a test track at the factory site where it will be dedicated to vehicle development and quality assurance. The company also says the track will be another step towards reducing the relevant environmental footprint, part of the brand’s promise to accelerate its transition to sustainable mobility across the industry.

The Polestar 2 has two electric motors, battery capacity 78 kWh and autonomy up to 500 km (in the WLTP cycle), which is based on the Volvo’s CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform. The battery array is embedded in its flooring, thus contributing to the rigidity of the chassis and improving noise and vibration levels.
