Henrik Fisker and Fisker Inc. in the CES 2020 report presented the first electric SUV with the name Ocean. It features innovations such as the solar panel on the roof, where it can offer some miles of autonomy during the day with condition being sunny.
As for the battery will have a capacity of 80kWh, its autonomy ranges from 402 to 482 km/h, and being able to charge through the photovoltaic panel located on the roof of the model as we mention at the beginning. The solar panel on the roof will give up to 1,610 km per year (1,000 miles), free charging according to Fisker.
Two electric motors, one per axle, will give the motion to the electric SUV while Fisker said there will be a performance version that can reach 100 kilometers per hour in 2.9 seconds. The original model is expected to have only one electric motor.
But what makes a big impression is the price of Ocean electric SUV where it starts at 37,499, which after the state rebate of 7,500 U.S. dollars, its price drops to 29,999 dollars. Based on the specific price the Fisker Ocean is considerably cheaper than the Tesla Model 3 and if you include the upcoming Model Y the price difference grows more.
Henrik Fisker designed cars for large companies such as Aston Martin DB9, the BMW Z8 while for a short time it was in the potential of Tesla.
