Nikola Motors plans to invade the popular category of Pickup but with hydrogen as a dominant source of energy. Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, hummer’s electric pickup, and the electric Ford F-150 will be the direct rivals.
Nikola Motor Company has unveiled Badger and everything indicates that it will be able to wedge into the aforementioned electric pickup. Nikola Badger will be available in two versions.
In the first version it will be pure electric with battery and autonomy of 300 miles (483 km). The second version will not be purely electric since it will also have fuel cells for the use of hydrogen.
Autonomy in this version is announced at 600 miles (966 km). For 300 miles it will receive power from the battery and 300 miles from the 8 kilos of hydrogen that its tanks will fit. It will have a total of 906 horsepower and 1329 Nm of torque.
Its length is at 5,890 mm, its width of 2,180 mm, and its height is 1,870 mm. The width of the loading area is 1,560 mm. Noteworthy will be in acceleration from stop at 100 km/h, which it carries out in just 2.9 seconds.
Nikola Motors plans to build 700 hydrogen refueling stations in North America. Orders from electric pickup Nikola Badger are expected to open in 2020. Also the pickup debut will take place in September 2020.
