Renault Twingo Z.E. is based on Renault’s electric vehicle platform, and is the brand’s 7th pure electric vehicle.
Geneva International Motor Show will open in a few days but Renault officially unveiled the Twingo Z.E. full electric. 3rd generation Renault Twingo has become one of the most popular city cars, making about 3.7 million sales so far.
The powertrain of Twingo Z.E. based on that of ZOE where it offers 60 kW (81 hp) power. Its torque is 160 Nm and is available between 500-3,590 rpm For 0-50 km/h it takes just 4.2 sec and can reach 135 km/h of final speed.
The battery is located under the floor, in the area of seats with a capacity of 22 kWh. It is designed entirely by the people of Renault to achieve maximum possible space savings. A very important development is that the battery has a cooling system with water instead of air.

Renault Twingo Z.E. can travel you up to 180 km in WLTP measurement. Also thanks to a sophisticated ECO driver profile in the city it manages up to 250 km of autonomy in the WLTP City cycle. According to Renault, the 180 km of the Twingo Z.E. autonomy, is enough for trouble-free use.
The battery in a simple household outlet (2.3 kW) for full charge (0-100%) It takes 13.5 hours. In a wallbox 3.7 kW it takes 8 hours, in a wallbox 7.4 kW takes 4 hours while on a 11 kW fast charger it takes 2 hours and 10 minutes for 0-80%.
According to Renault measurements, charging at a 22 kW station for 30 minutes offers an increase in the autonomy of the Twingo Z.E. by about 80 km. Sure, for the conditions in the city, it’s quite an important factor.
Externally and internally Twingo Z.E. is not very different from the conventional version. Changes are found in Z.E. Electric logos and blue graphics, while the charging plug replaced the fuel plug.
Twingo Z.E. features a 7-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. Driver and passenger access the Renault Easy Connect multimedia system, as well as the MY Renault smartphone app. The gear lever is now the lever where the driver chooses between the three levels of energy recovery.
Also the new “Z.E. Voice” allows drivers to choose between three audio combinations. The volume will change depending on the speed, up to 30 km/h. Of course, when the speed of the electric Twingo Z.E. increases the system is automatically turned off.
Renault Twingo Z.E., does not eliminate the presence of internal combustion engine versions. Renault also plans to offer 8 models with zero emissions to the market by 2022.
