The new electric Aiways U5 SUV is now available for online orders and even with a very competitive price. The Chinese company was unable to disclose the U5 SUV at the Geneva Motor Show since the coronavirus pandemic has affected every activity around the globe.
The Shanghai-based company, which describes itself as a provider of personal mobility services, announced today that orders for U5 will begin at the end of April. These will be done exclusively online, with the company following the sales model “directly to the customer”
The new electric Aiways U5 SUV is ranked in a fairly competitive category but will have the advantage of the acquisition price. So with about 35,000 euros it will compete with the Audi E-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Tesla Model X.
It will offer sufficient range of 460 km per charge, and has an electric motor that delivers 190 horses with 315 Nm of torque. It also has a system with a “portable” battery, which increases autonomy for an additional 100 km.
