BYD comes to Europe with aggressive pricing
Chinese BYD comes to Europe but in the past there was an attempt to enter Chinese car manufacturers in the European market, but it did not succeed. This time, however, the “landing” will be rather permanent.
On the other hand, the reason was that Europe is introducing ever stricter pollutant standards (Euro 6d, now), with Chinese manufacturers preferring instead of investing in their factories in order to build engines that meet these specifications, to sell existing engines on their domestic market, which is particularly large.
However, globalization, as well as the rapid development in electric car production, with Europe aspiring to have a cleaner environment, is leading one of the leading Chinese companies, BYD, to invade the old continent even further.
It is worth noting that the company already has a presence in Europe with eBus and eCoach, but will now import, starting with Norway which has more than half the electric sales, the pure electric SUV Tang EV600, in its second generation, while in the long term it plans to introduce the new BYD LCV and eTruck series, with 7.9 and 19 ton trucks as well as electric buses.

The electric BYD Tang EV600 is four-wheel drive and has a range of 520 km in the NEDC test cycle. Its price in Norway is expected to be known in the coming months. Depending on its acceptance by the country’s public, BYD will consider when to and which countries to make it available.
