The new Honda Jazz has a hybrid version and is very sophisticated. In recent years the Japanese company has returned to Formula 1 with the latest generation of hybrid thermal engines, and of course the purpose is unique, the prevalence at the highest level of motorsport.
For this reason Jazz has the new e:HEV system. This has been achieved to a large extent by utilizing the knowledge the company has gained from its involvement with Formula 1. In fact, Honda’s hybrid engine managed to give the teams that used it three wins in races and six podium positions.
During each race, Honda engineers were constantly accessed and changed the parameters and the rate of energy recovery from braking, so as to achieve optimal system performance. These knowledge gained from the races come to add to the new e:HEV system that will supply the next Jazz hybrid.

The e:HEV is designed to provide maximum efficiency, while maintaining a pleasant driving experience. It consists of two compact powerful electric motors, connected to a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. Electricity is stored in a lithium-ion battery.
The new Honda Jazz hybrid will come with three operating programs. The V Drive, where the lithium-ion battery directly powers the electric motors. Then we have the Hybrid Drive, where the petrol engine moves one electric motor to generate power and it in turn feeds the other, where it will move the vehicle.
There is the Engine Drive program, where the petrol engine will be connected directly to the wheels, via a differential that locks.
