The Tesla Roadster 2 is very low in priority according to Elon Musk. Tesla CEO have another interview to Joe Rogan, in which the first role had issues related to the coronavirus pandemic.
So, Rogan asked Musk when it would be possible to buy the new Roadster 2. Elon Musk said the Roadster 2 will be more delayed after the pandemic brought additional problems to the model evolution. He also said the Roadster 2 is not a priority for Tesla right now.
The immediate priority is the normalization and increase of the production of the Model Y as well as the development of construction of Gigafactory 4 in Germany. Also major extensions will be made at Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai.
The Tesla Cybertruck and the Semi Truck are the priority projects over the Roadster. In fact, Cybertruck is the next big bet for Elon Musk to establish Tesla in the popular Pickup Trucks category. Let’s point out that the groundbreaking pickup so far has far exceeded 500,000 pre-orders.
The Tesla Roadster 2 was unveiled in November 2017 and was originally scheduled to find its way into production in 2020. It will have an impressive performance with an acceleration of 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 1.9 sec.
For the 400 meters it takes just 8.8 sec while its top speed will exceed 250 mph (402 km/h). It has a total of three electric motors offering the supercar a crazy torque of 10,000 Nm. It will also have a 200 kWh battery that will offer impressive autonomy of 620 miles (1,000 km)
Tesla has promised that the Roadster will be the fastest production car in acceleration. Also, according to Musk, there will be an extreme version using technology derived from SpaceX’s rockets.
