Fiat President driving the brand new 500 electric opening a new chapter in Italian brand
From the Mirafiori factory, the Fiat President begins his journey, where he drives the brand new electric 500. Within 81 years, this huge industrial plant made history for both the Italian and the global automotive industry. It was inaugurated in 1939 and marked the passage to the modern era for Fiat, and today it is one of the longest-term car factories in Europe.
“Usually the first time we drive a car on the roads, we have the cameras off. But for the new electric 500 I decided to come with me to this unique experience,”Fiat President Olivier Francois
Now a new chapter opens with the construction of the pure electric Fiat 500, with the FCA Group starting the revolution from the production line. Approximately 1,200 people will be employed exclusively in the production of the new model with the annual production capacity of 80,000 units able to increase if this is required.
The president’s journey with the electric 500 continues through the city streets and ends at Monte dei Cappuccini, near the center of Turin and next to the bank of the Po River with its unique views of the Alps. A truly unique spot to enjoy a sunny day.
