Batteries + ultracapacitors is the electrification future?

How would it look if you could charge the electric vehicle in a few sec? Batteries + ultracapacitors point to the future in electrification? A new innovative graphene battery that can be charged in just 15 seconds is in development. As at least its manufacturers claim, Skeleton Technologies runs the project in collaboration with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany.

Patented technology this battery, when and if it is completed and launched on the market, will make life easier for hundreds of thousands of people in European cities, giving the perfect solutions to three very important issues: the slow charging times that electric vehicles have so far, battery wear after a certain time and, of course, electric autonomy.

Batteries ultracapacitors future in electrification

The key point in its operation is the curved graphene carbon (patented), which allows high-power application and provides a long life for ultracapacitors , which are already the ideal supplement for lithium-ion batteries. The same tactic Tesla uses to continuously improve the characteristics of its batteries.

At the heart of our ultracapacitors’ performance advantage is Skeleton’s nanotechnology research into our patented Curved Graphene. Curved graphene differs significantly from regular activated carbons, which are used by other ultracapacitor manufacturers.

Taavi Madiberk, CEO of Skeleton Technologies stresses that “working with the relevant energy companies in Europe is the most important point for a better future in this area. We are excited to partner with the Development of SuperBattery with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Our cooperation may bring a technology that the market has never seen before in electric vehicle charging solutions.”
