The new Turkish electric car is preparing to “hit” Europe’s market. Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will target the German market with the Turkish electric car he is preparing for 2022, wanting to make it to Europe’s most important car-producing country.
The TOGG, Turkey’s electric car that Erdogan unveiled last December, will go into production in early 2022, marking the first car to be developed and built 100% in Turkey.
The new model is Erdogan’s pride in showing the world what Turkey can accomplish in the technological field, since it will bring the most hi-tech in its construction, e.g. it will be purely electric, it will have the most advanced safety systems and autonomous driving system, it will incorporate high-definition displays and more.
With its launch in early 2022, TOGG will be offered to the Turkish market. At the same time, however, it will also start exporting to Germany, which, German media say, will be the first country in Europe to make the car available.

A short time later, its sales will begin in Italy and France, and soon after in the other countries of Europe. TOGG will also be available in Asia and Africa. Erdogan chose Germany as the first country to receive the TOGG outside Turkey to show he can make it to Europe’s most important market. At the same time, he wants to take advantage of the number of Turks who live in Germany and will certainly support his project by buying the car.
The layout chosen by the company consists of an electric motor of 200 horsepower on the rear axle and a battery cluster that ensures autonomy of 300 kilometers. In its top version, the C-SUV is equipped with an additional electric motor on the front axle and offers a total of 400 horsepower, while the range reaches 480 + kilometers.
