VW with ID.3 dominates Norway in sales for September 2020. After the Audi e-Tron that you comfortably preceded in YTD sales, it was VW’s turn to enter the Norwegian car market particularly dynamically. Of course, it should be remembered that ID.3 has only recently started its commercial course.
Thus, VW wins first place for the month of September with ID.3 and 1,989 units and 12.8% market share. In second place was the Tesla Model 3 where it recorded a perfectly satisfactory month with 1,116 units and 7.2%. In third place another surprise with Polestar 2 entering with “appetite” in the Norwegian market.
In fourth place we are still expecting a surprise and it is the MG ZS where it managed to deliver 672 cars and 4.3% share. Much further back in fifth place we find the Audi e-Tron SUV with 542 cars and 3.5%, but with the difference as mentioned above is by far first in YTD sales until September. In sixth place is Hyundai Kona electric with 486 cars and 3.1%.

In seventh place, and very close to Kona electric is the Nissan Leaf with 473 units and 3.0% market share. In eighth place and of course far behind is the VW e-Golf with 323 cars and a 2.1% share. Natural evolution we would say since ID.3 is the main “weapon” of VW to dominate electric vehicles. In ninth place the BMW i3 with 322 cars and somewhere here BMW will have to reveal something more competitive.
In tenth place another Hyundai where IONIQ managed to deliver 297 cars and 1,9 share. We don’t know if VW with ID.3 will dominates Norway sales and the next months but it is certain that ID.3 may change the statistics enough, if not this year then surely in 2021.
