The new KIA EV6 is a completely fresh proposition in the world of electric mobility with a new design but also a completely new platform where it was developed together with Hyundai. This is the E-GMP that Apple would reportedly use before its “negotiations” with the Korean car industry collapsed.
Of course the same platform we have seen in Hyundai’s new pure electric model the Ioniq 5. But KIA is introducing a new design line as it now places the famous “tiger nose” in the spotlight. Crossover features features with modern lines and a special emphasis on aerodynamics.
But where the design identity of the electric car stands out are the rear luminaires where they start from the rear wheel domes and penetrate the entire width of the bodywork. Simple and uncluttered one could also characterize inside the car, where the first reason is the centrally mounted touch screen and the steering wheel with the two spokes and the unconventional design.
The physical buttons have been minimized, while the engineers and designers of the brand took advantage of the electric propulsion system as well as elements such as thin seats in order to ensure comfortable living.

The new E-GMP platform gives the new KIA EV6 plenty of space internally for passengers, as is the case with hyundai Ioniq 5, and it remains to be seen whether the two cars will share the same mechanical parts, which will mean the creation of two- and four-wheel-drive versions with one or two electric motors.
In terms of power units in the coming days KIA will reveal more details but the Koreans already have on their “shelves” two configurations of 72.6 kWh and 58 kWh.
