China EV sales for February 2021 made a huge leap compared to February 2020 after 104,000 units were placed on the market. Of course, last year the Chinese market was hit hard by the rise of the pandemic, but considering the 2019 figures, only 41,000 units had been allocated.
As far as the classification table is concerned, nothing has changed in the month of February since in the first place still dominates and by far the Wuling HongGuang Mini EV with 20,167 units. It’s still an excellent result for the small liliputio four-seater electric car and with its very low price ($4,400) it will probably be hard to find a rival for the next few months.
Although the Tesla Model 3 continues its dynamic presence, it nevertheless wins second place with 13,688 cars. Of course to clarify that if we compare sales proportionally between the Model 3 and Wuling HongGuang Mini EV then the numbers of Tesla’s Sedan are particularly impressive since the price difference compared to the small Chinese model is chaotic.
Dynamically comes the Tesla Model Y where with 4,630 cars it occupies 3rd place and with many promises of impressive results in the coming months. Tesla’s Compact SUV production line is expected to reach its desired point in the second quarter of the year.
From positions 4 to 7 occupy local electric vehicle manufacturers such as, Great Wall with ORA Black Cat (R1), BYD Han EV, Changan Beni EV and GAC Aion S. The TOP 10 are closed by two NIO models, the ES6 and EC6.
