Wuling’s new mini EV, which is part of the General Motors Group, is a very cheap four-seater car with sales having exceeded all expectations in China. The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV selling like hot cakes, and in January alone 25,778 models were delivered, almost twice what Tesla (13,843 cars) sold, where the US company also doubled its numbers.
On the other hand, comparing a Tesla Model 3 with the Hongguang Mini EV is a bit unfair since the Chinese mini EV costs just 28,800 yuan (currently 3,700 euros) while for the Model 3 should someone give nine times as much money (from 249,000 yuan or 32,000 euros).
The extremely low price of the Chinese mini EV combined with its practicality, create an excellent small electric city car that is value for money regardless of class. This vehicle is 2,917 mm long. (2,695 mm smart fortwo), width 1,493 mm, height 1,621 mm and wheelbase 1,940 mm
But what really impresses despite its small size, internally has space to travel relatively comfortably four adult people but also with the folding of the rear seats offers 741 liters of luggage space. Also its dashboard is quite modern and has all the necessary (basic) accessories.

The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV features a 27-horsepower electric engine with a torque of 85 NM. Its battery is only 9.3 kWh but with a range of up to 120 km. There is also the possibility of larger batteries at 13.9 kWh and with this set-up can travel up to 170 km. Also the Chinese mini electric car weighs only 665 kg in its basic version.
