The Polestar 2 EV becomes even more affordable after the Swedish company decided that the pure electric sedan should have a wider range in order to be accepted by more buyers. When polestar 2 was unveiled, the company chose the top version to be equipped with two electric motors (one on each axle) with a combined performance of 408 hp and 660 Nm of torque.
But it has already been almost two years and the time has come for the most affordable version to come. This became a reality by removing one of the two electric motors and even the one on the rear axle.
According to the head of the company, Thomas Ingenlath: “What we have achieved with the new versions of Polestar 2 is to avoid “undressing” the most affordable models by their character and premium feel. Even the most affordable Polestar 2, without any optional package, has excellent visual consistency and a high level of equipment.”
So the affordable Polestar 2 EV makes no difference designally to the model already in circulation but has only a 231 horsepower electric engine while the 64 kWh battery gives the car up to 439 km autonomy. There is also the option of choosing the largest battery of 78 kWh where depending on the level of equipment and configuration gives the electric car up to 539 km.
The Polestar 2 is also offered with the optional, “Pilot Pack” which includes advanced safety and driving assistance systems as well as the “Plus Pack” that upgrades luxury equipment with Harman Karmon’s high-end sound system, also features vegan linings, heated seats, wood decorations, etc.
