The All-electric Ford F-150 was finally unveiled where another electric pick-up truck enters the battle of this category where it is particularly popular in the US. Bookings have already started yesterday where interested parties will have to pre-make a refundable deposit of $100. The more affordable F-150 Lightning costs $39,974 while the top version reaches $90,474.
The first deliveries are expected in spring 2022 and Ford claims already in the first 12 hours when the system opened the company has received over 20,000 orders. As far as the exterior design is concerned, there are no major changes in relation to the conventional pick-up truck except for a bright LED technology bar running through the car’s muzzle.
The all-electric F-150 Lightning has two electric motors that deliver 563 horses with 1,051 Nm of torque with the large battery while the 0-100 km/h makes them in about 4.5 seconds. with a range of 300 miles (482 km) per charge. It is also offered with a smaller battery that gives 230 miles (370 km) of autonomy, with electric motors delivering 426 horses with 1,050 Nm of torque.

The electric F-150 is the first F-Series pickup with an independent rear suspension, with the model with the small battery having a built-in 11.3 kW charger and the one with the large battery having a 19.2 kW charger. Using a 150 kW fast charger, the F-150 Lightning charges from 15 to 80% in 41 minutes. The vehicle is offered in 4 levels of equipment (Base, XLT, Lariat and Platinum).
Among other things, the Ford F-150 Lightning will also be a backup power source, providing energy reserves for an entire household with up to eleven separate supplies. The model features LED luminaires and the largest luggage compartment (400 liters) under the hood of the market. It has a towing capacity of up to 4,535 kg and a maximum payload of 907 kg.
Also inside is the Sync 4A update and entertainment system with a 15.5″ touchscreen and supports voice control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and SYNC AppLink.
