Ferrari 488 Pista is an extremely fast car with explosive performance consistent with the name of the historic Italian brand. But so far Ferrari has not made any substantial move to add a purely electric performance model to its range.
On the other hand, Porsche, where is Ferrari’s perennial rival in super sports vehicles is, revealed at the end of 2019 a pure electric sports vehicle called Taycan where the video you will see below is compared to a Drag race with the Ferrari 488 Pista. In technical characteristics the Italian car with thermal engine has the advantage. But will this be enough to beat the direct torque offered by Porsche Taycan’s electric engines?
Ferrari wears the V8 3.9-liter biturbo engine with a performance of 720 hp at 8,000 rpm with 770 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm It is combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends traffic to the rear axle. The 0-100 km/h comes in 2.85 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 340 km/h.
The Porsche Taycan 4S delivers 530 horses, but with the Performance Battery Plus package, its performance rises to 571 horses. It has two electric motors, one per axle, a four-wheel drive system and a two-speed gearbox. Regardless of horsepower, it does 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds, having a top speed of 250 km/h.
