Fisker Ocean EV production begins in November 2022

Fisker’s production of Ocean EV is not expected until next year after the US company and Magna announced that they have signed an agreement so that Ocean’s production can begin on November 17, 2022. The model will cost in Germany around 32,000 euros and will use the platform called FM29 by Magna. This new platform will be made of aluminium and will offer huge spaces

Along with the previous agreements on the sharing of driving assistance systems, as well as platforms intended for electric vehicles, today’s news comes to conclude the framework of cooperation between the two companies announced in October 2020.

“We continue to strengthen our partnership beyond platform development and construction of Fisker Intelligent (FI) Pilot. I am very confident that Fisker and Magna will offer an incredible product to customers,” said Fisker’s president and CEO, Henrik Fisker.

Fisker says the pure electric SUV will be available with one (rear) or two electric motors, one per axle, powered by an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery. The performance of electric motors will be about 225 kW (304 horses), while there will also be a high performance version, where 0-96 km/h will complete it in less than 3 seconds.

Ocean EV

Ocean EV battery will ensure autonomy of up to 400 and 480 km (300 miles). It is also worth noting that Fisker has entered into an agreement with the Electrify America network in the USA to provide access to the latter’s 350 kW fast-chargers network – thanks to them the recovery of electricity for 320 km coverage will take place in just 30 minutes.
