CUPRA prepares high performance electric city car

A high performance electric city car “loaded” with terrifying aerodynamic aids and seems to have come straight from a special stage of the WRC. An EV that sprints from a standstill at 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. CUPRA presented us with a radical proposal for a high performance electric city car.

The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept combines electricity, sustainability and performance with Cupra’s exciting aesthetic. It gives a first glimpse of the future design line of the urban electric vehicle that will be launched by SEAT S.A. in 2025. If so, shut up and take my money!

The reason the company decided to first implement the vision of a 100% electric vehicle in a race car with an exciting appearance, is the fact that car racing is a key element of CUPRA’s DNA.

“The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept represents the brand’s radical conception of a city electric car, due to be launched in 2025. The racing concept gives a first taste of the design language of the future street-car and inspires its creation”, explains CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths.

“The urban electric car is a key strategic project not only for our company, but also for the Volkswagen Group, as our goal is to produce more than 500,000 urban electric vehicles annually in Martorell for the different brands of the Group. This car will make electrification accessible to people.”

The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept is based on the design bases of the 100% electric urban vehicle that will be launched by SEAT S.A. in 2025. The version will combine stunning design and dynamics and will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s small MEB platform.

The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept will be unveiled before the opening of Cupra City Garage in Munich during the Munich International Motor Show (IAA).
