Stellantis is preparing an all-out attack on the battlefield called electrification, and the first tangible results of the Group’s strategy will be seen around the middle of the decade, but some interesting information about the return of two iconic names with different characteristics is already beginning to leak.

It’s clear that Lancia is targeting a premium audience, which it hopes will conquer by offering quality, luxury and cutting-edge technology in the areas of safety, driving assistance and connectivity, while it doesn’t hurt a brave dose of nostalgia for those who remember the authentic Delta from the 80s and 90s.

In the same way, Opel will revive another historical name. The reason for the Manta that will take the form of a purely electric crossover with sporty genes. After all, after Ford did it with the Mustang Mach-E, why shouldn’t Opel do it too?

Of course, until the new Opel Manta reaches the market, it will find against it an “establishment” in the faces of the Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Volkswagen ID.4 and any other electric crossover presented in the near future, but the new model of the German company will offer a special blend of style, performance and history that Opel hopes will tip the weight towards it.

An important role in both the revival of the Opel Manta and that of The Lancia Delta will be played by the Family of Electric Architectures of Stellantis and more specifically, given the size of the two upcoming models, the STLA Medium platform that according to the information so far, will be able to accommodate one or two electric motors with a power of 170 to 250 horsepower and will be able to offer a range of up to 700 kilometers.
