Tesla is not Premium according to BMW CEO

Tesla models “play” to the Premium segment? BMW’s CEO, Oliver Zipse, recently had a teleconference with the German Handelsblatt and was asked to give his opinion on Tesla.

Zipse said that – in his personal opinion – Tesla is not in the premium market segment, the one where the German automaker is located.

In addition, he was not afraid to criticize Tesla’s models and hinted that BMW places great emphasis on customer satisfaction from the world’s best-selling electric car company, saying:

Tesla doesn’t belong to the premium category. They are growing very strongly through price reductions. We wouldn’t do that since you have to endure in the long run. Where we differ is in our standards in terms of quality and reliability. We have different ambitions for customer satisfaction.
