Once again Mercedes-Benz is making recalls for the new S-Class, as well as its electric flagship, EQS. This time cause is a problem in the eCall emergency call system which may not work according to specifications.
The cause of the problem is a mistake in the software, something that corrected it and now from November 2021 installs it during the production of cars.
The company’s dealerships have been informed of the pending safety recall on January 4, while the owner’s scheduled notice date is listed as February 25 on the National Road Safety Agency’s website.
In the cars that are revoked, Mercedes can install the new software either through an over-the-air upgrade or through its authorized workshops.
Also last month Mercedes was forced to recall 227 EQS models and a few dozen S-Class models due to a software error affecting the car’s infotainment system.
