A sketch from the interior was revealed by Renault of the new model named Austral where it is expected to debut sometime in the coming weeks, as it will be released in spring 2022.
According to the French company, its new SUV will be high-tech, spacious and pleasant to drive, bringing something new to the C-class, and will have a range of electrified engines, including mild hybrid and hybrid drive sets.
Observing the photo below, Austral “inherits” the arrangement of the screens that we saw in the Megane E-Tech. According to Renault, the L-shaped panel is one of the largest screens on the market, with a total screen area of 24.3 inches, which has a reflective coating.
Behind the “square” steering wheel there is the digital instrument cluster, while on the right is the large touchscreen of the infotainment, in portrait orientation. The system “runs” Google Automotive Services, integrates Google maps, and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Renault claims that 90% of the functions that most users need every day are one or two clicks away. In addition to the screen, we can see thin air vents, red accents, ambient lighting and a high-mounted central tunnel.
Austral’s five-seater cabin is modular, with multiple storage spaces, with Renault reporting that the sliding armrest and the two storage spaces in the center console hold more than 30 liters.
