The Tesla Giga Berlin Gigafactory is now very close to starting production of the first vehicles, and as you can see in the video below, Tesla’s impressive facilities continue to be built.
The American car industry a few months ago gave a first taste for its new factory in Giga Berlin, which is located about 32 kilometers southeast of the German capital. To celebrate the completion of Giga Berlin, Tesla invited the public to a kind of exhibition event with tours of the new factory.
Giga Berlin will assemble the Tesla Model Y for European customers and will also produce batteries and powertrains for its electric vehicles.
Tesla wants to increase its production line this year and wants to pump between 5,000 and 10,000 electric cars a week by the end of 2022.
Also, during the construction of Giga Berlin there have been some controversies since 2019 already, where environmental protesters insisted that the construction of the plant will have a negative impact on wildlife and local water supplies.
As part of an effort by protesters to participate, Elon Musk said Tesla is planting more trees than was cut down during the construction project and is using as little water as possible to reduce the impact on the aquifer in one of Germany’s driest areas.
