The battery price gradually decreases says experts

The price of the battery gradually decreases, despite the fact that the capacity increases. And given that the battery is the most important part of the car and is exclusively the one that skyrockets its cost, it is easy to understand that very soon we will see cheaper electric cars.

Industry analysts estimate that electric vehicle production will be cheaper than producing conventional ones by 2027 and beyond. In fact, they predict that the price of large electric vehicles will be at exactly the same level as internal combustion cars.

On the other hand, we should not overlook the fact that gradually in recent times there has been an increase in prices for conventional cars, mainly due to the rise in raw materials, but also to driver assistance systems that are expensive and increase costs.

Achieving an economical solution in the production of batteries for electric cars “leads” the plans of automakers, who are looking for ways to develop electromobility, through the increase of their economic models.

A mid-range car currently costs close to 30,000 euros compared to the 18,000-20,000 euros that a conventional vehicle costs. This means that in 2027 both categories of cars will cost the same and will potentially be close to 20,000 euros, which will make electric cars more tempting.

If we put the reduced cost of operation and maintenance of an electric car, then it is easily understood that its final cost is much lower.

Research, such as that of investment bank UBS, has shown that the price of electric cars is expected to fall faster, around 2024. The same research converges on the conclusion that the cost of batteries in electric cars is expected to fall by more than 50% in the next few years.

This development will displace from the first place hybrid cars that currently have the first say in the sales of new cars.

European governments are standing by these moves by manufacturers and in their efforts to reduce pollutants. If there will continue to be an encouragement from consumers to buy electric cars, then it is certain that very soon we will see huge growth in the segment and electric cars will be more attractive to consumers
