Elon Musk recently said that automotive software and a humanoid robots will be the most important “Tesla” products this year and next year, and indeed for the humanoid robot the company expects to facilitate work for humans at the electric vehicle maker’s factory.
“I would be surprised if we don’t achieve fully autonomous driving -FSD- this year, which is safer than human driving,” Musk said, adding that fully autonomous driving will become “the most important source of profitability for Tesla,” Reuters reports.
From an economic point of view, this is excellent, says Musk, citing as an example that a robotic taxi (RoboTaxi) would increase the use of the vehicle fivefold, as owners could send their cars to work as a taxi when they do not need them for private use.

The bold promises of the most famous billionaire in the electric car industry face big challenges, from technology to regulations, according to the British agency, noting that “Tesla” and other companies in the field of automotive technology have failed to achieve their goals with software designed for autonomous car driving.
Musk also said his engineers are working on producing a humanoid robot next year, called “Optimus,” which could eventually solve the global labor shortage, while in the first instance it could transport goods throughout the factory. “I think (the robot) has the potential to become more important over time than the car business,” he added.
