Mercedes-EQ: The time has come for new electric SUVs
Mercedes-EQ series is expanding even further and the German carmaker is moving on to add two new pure electric SUVs, the EQS and EQE that will come in 2022. Both new Mercedes models will be based on the EVA platform for pure electric models.
Mercedes’ two new SUVs are based on the GLS and GLE models, offering their electric versions. The Mercedes EQS will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2022, while the Mercedes EQE is expected to make its official appearance in November 2022. The EQS 580 4matic model will be based on the Maybach EQS 600, which will be the company’s first electric vehicle.
In the case of the Mercedes EQS, we will have a 108 kWh battery, with two electric motors that will offer a combined power of 516 horsepower, with a torque of 855 Nm.
