Porsche testing all-electric Macan in the Arctic Circle

Porsche has been testing the evolution of the all-electric Macan for at least a year. During winter tests near the Arctic Circle Porsche has transported some prototypes to the north of Europe to carry out an extensive test under extremely cold conditions.

The German company announces that the new electric crossover will offer “significantly” more autonomy than the Taycan, but does not announce the exact number. What is certain is that the autonomy of the electric Macan will exceed 450 kilometers.

The strongest version will be called the Macan Turbo S and will wear two electric motors, one per axle, that will deliver 700 horses with 1,016 Nm of torque. As in the Taycan, the Macan will also have a Turbo version.

The Macan will follow Taycan’s standards, with 800 Volt technology, with the PPE platform enabling Porsche to make the new Macan more aerodynamic.

The battery will have a weight of close to 600 kg, will be mounted on the floor of the car and will be able to charge with a 270 kW fast charger.
