For the choice to finding charging stations for EVs now offering in the well-known Google Maps, and thus another useful tool is available to users of zero pollutant vehicles to make their lives even easier looking for charging.
Google Maps has been working with electric vehicle charging station partners in the US and UK for the past three years.
Now the service is expanding to the majority of the countries it covers. It has useful filters for charging speeds and type of plugs, including the ability to set personal preferences.
The feature is now available on Android and iOS apps, and the new filters come with the big Google Maps update. Information is provided on whether charging stations are free, although this depends on the information offered by the country concerned.
The app essentially explores the city through the camera and then gives AR directions to the stations. In fact, it is possible to locate businesses accessible by wheelchairs and without stairs.
With the new feature, Google brings e-mobility one step closer to the driver, since it will be able to filter charging stations to find the most time-efficient option. So if, for example, you search for a charging station on Google maps, a new filter appears only with fast charging stations that are compatible with the plug your car uses.
